Naim CI-Uniti 102 Gets a $99 Home Upgrade
Sometimes making hi-fi easier to live with comes down to a remote control and four feet. Naim’s new Home accessory kit gives its CI-Uniti 102 streaming amplifier both, while a Focal & Naim app update puts more of the setup and sound controls in the owner’s hands.
Announced September 8, the kit costs $99 and starts shipping in October 2026. The amplifier is available now for $1,499, putting the combination at $1,598 before tax and speakers. For that money, the CI-Uniti 102 offers streaming, HDMI eARC, substantial rated power, and useful tools for integrating a subwoofer.
From the Rack to the Shelf
The CI-Uniti 102 was developed for custom installations, where an amplifier might live in an equipment rack and take its instructions from a home automation system. The new Home accessory kit makes that existing hardware easier to use as a conventional stereo component.
Inside the box are four 11 mm feet, an L-bracket for assembling them, and a Bluetooth remote. Naim says the raised feet improve clearance for cooling and let the amplifier sit on furniture or shelving. The chassis measures about 11.75 inches square and 1.75 inches high before adding the accessory feet, so finding space for it should be reasonably straightforward.
The remote covers volume, mute, standby, play/pause, and three presets. That is a sensible set of buttons for a component with very little happening on its front panel. There is something to be said for adjusting the volume without first finding your phone.
Home Mode Is the More Interesting Update
Alongside the kit, the Focal & Naim app gains a dedicated Home configuration with a four-band equalizer and crossover controls for a 2.1 system. That gives the owner direct access to adjustments that matter when placing speakers and a subwoofer in an actual room.
Naim’s crossover guide describes a linked high-pass filter for the main speakers and low-pass filter for the subwoofer. The app also provides subwoofer level adjustment, and the Aux output offers a 0/180-degree phase inversion setting.
The high-pass filter lets you reduce the deep bass sent to the main speakers while the subwoofer handles that range.
The Amplifier Already Has the Connections
Naim rates the CI-Uniti 102 at 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 260 watts into 4 ohms. The Home kit simply adds convenience to the existing amplifier platform.
Networking includes Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6. Streaming support covers TIDAL and TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, UPnP, and internet radio. Bluetooth provides another way to send music to the system.
HDMI eARC lets the same speakers handle television sound, with Naim specifying support for stereo LPCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz. There is also an optical S/PDIF input and a stereo RCA analog input. A turntable will need a suitable phono preamp, either built into the turntable or connected separately.
Main and Sub/Aux stereo RCA outputs provide connections for additional amplification or a powered subwoofer. For a larger home, Naim’s multiroom system supports up to 32 devices in a single playback session. The CI-Uniti 102 retains its custom-installation connections and control options as it takes on a more visible role in the living room.
Price, Availability, and the AOAB Angle
Naim’s North American release lists the amplifier at $1,499 USD / $1,949 CAD, available now, and the Home accessory kit at $99 USD / $129 CAD, available starting October. Buying both totals $1,598 USD / $2,078 CAD. Speakers and a subwoofer are separate purchases.
At that price, I would pay particular attention to how well Home mode handles setup and subwoofer integration. Power, connections, and everyday usability give us something concrete to evaluate. A remote and four feet are a modest hardware addition, but making a capable amplifier easier to live with is a worthwhile update.
