NAD C 569 CD Player Pairs an ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DAC With Dynamic Digital Headroom for $999

When NAD Electronics announced the C 359S Class AB streaming integrated amplifier on October 15, it didn’t leave physical media collectors empty-handed. Alongside the amplifier, the British-founded, Canadian-owned brand unveiled the NAD C 569 CD Player ($999 USD), slotting into the Classic Series between the C 538 and C 589 and modernizing a lineage of dedicated NAD disc spinners that stretches back through the C 568, C 545BEE, and 1990s NAD 502.

Reducing Inter-Sample Clipping With Dynamic Digital Headroom

Inter-sample peaks can exceed the digital full-scale reference during reconstruction even when the stored samples do not. NAD’s Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH) is designed to reduce the resulting playback distortion. That does not undo clipping or dynamic compression already baked into a recording.

Digital-to-analog conversion moves from the older C 568 design to an ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M 32-bit HyperStream IV DAC coupled to a low-noise op-amp output buffer. The C 569 also integrates QRONO d2a filtering developed by sister division Lenbrook Media Group (MQA Labs), which NAD describes as improving timing and resolution for PCM and MQA-encoded music.

NXP Servo Transport and CD-Text Display

Inside the full-width chassis, disc reading, spindle regulation, laser focus, and tracking are governed by an NXP-based servo controller for audio-CD playback. The front-panel display renders track numbers, elapsed/remaining time, and CD-Text artist and album titles alongside tactile transport buttons. According to the official NAD C 569 product specifications, the rear panel provides gold-plated stereo RCA analog outputs (2.2V nominal) plus 75-ohm coaxial and optical TOSLINK digital outputs if you ever choose to use the C 569 strictly as a CD transport.
