Klipsch Opens Its Indianapolis Headquarters for Free Two-Day KlipschFest 2026
Klipsch is opening its global headquarters in Indianapolis to the public on Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, for KlipschFest 2026. Billed as KlipschFest 2026 Powered by Onkyo, the two-day open house marks the company’s 80th anniversary. Admission is free, though advance registration at KlipschFest.com is required and capacity is limited.
Most audio shows charge admission to hear gear inside hotel bedrooms with questionable acoustics. A free factory open house offers a more practical proposition, provided there is real substance behind the marketing. Two items on the Indianapolis schedule stand out for anyone within driving distance.
First, Klipsch Museum of Audio History Chief Curator Jim Hunter and his team will conduct tours and live demonstrations of the very first Klipschorn built by founder Paul W. Klipsch. Seeing early hi-fi hardware in a display case is common enough. Actually hearing the original folded-horn prototype that launched the company in 1946 is a rare treat.
Second, visitors can tour Klipsch’s patented anechoic chamber. Built when the Indianapolis engineering center opened in 2001 to mirror the original 1980 chamber in Hope, Arkansas, the room uses a patented revolving corner door that allows engineers to test corner-loaded horns under controlled acoustic conditions. Alongside the lab tours, Klipsch staff will run small-group music and home theater demos featuring current Klipsch and Onkyo hardware set up by the engineers who designed the systems.
“For 80 years, Klipsch has been about more than building great speakers. It’s about the emotional connection people have with music, movies and sound. Indianapolis is our home, and KlipschFest is our opportunity to open our doors, turn up the volume and share our products, our people and our culture with the community.”
That statement comes from Vinny Bonacorsi, Chief Operating Officer of Premium Audio Company, the Gentex Corporation subsidiary that owns both Klipsch and Onkyo.
Outside the listening rooms, the company will stage mobile audio demonstrations in vehicles and trailers equipped with Klipsch Automotive systems, including INFINITI SUVs and Airstream trailers. Indiana country musician Clayton Anderson is scheduled to play a live set on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and food trucks, beer trucks, family games, and limited-edition anniversary merchandise will be on the grounds both days.
