Cambridge Audio Drops Active “L/R” Speaker Series, Adds Fidelity Imports as US Distributor

A double dose of audio news coming out of England: Cambridge Audio has a new US distributor and it has announced a new line of active speakers.

New L/R Active Series

Cambridge is applying a “just add music” philosophy with the new L/R Series. These are active speakers, so no need for a separate amp, DAC, or streamer.

The launch includes three models, all of which are “tuned in London” and sold in six different colors/finishes.

  • L/R S ($549/pair)
  • A compact option for desktops or small rooms.
  • 100W total power (50W per speaker), Class D.
  • USB Audio (great for PC/Mac), Bluetooth aptX HD, and analog inputs.
  • Availability: Spring 2026.
  • L/R M ($1,599/pair)
  • Serious room-filling sound without the footprint.
  • Built on the StreamMagic Gen 4 platform (WiFi, Tidal, Spotify, Roon, etc.).
  • 300W total power, 2.5-way design with a new “torus-chambered” tweeter.
  • HDMI eARC (TV ready), MM Phono stage (turntable ready), plus USB and Bluetooth.
  • Late Summer 2026.
  • L/R X ($2,299/pair) – The Flagship
  • A bookshelf speaker trying to kill floorstanders.
  • 800W total system power. That is literally over 1 horsepower of amplification.
  • Dual 5-inch woofers, dual 6-inch force-canceling passive radiators.
  • Same full StreamMagic suite and inputs as the M model, plus WiSA HT for wireless linking.
  • Summer 2026.

Real Walnut finish adds $50-$100 to the price depending on the model.

Cue Fidelity Imports for US Distribution

If you are wondering how to buy these new speakers and other Cambridge Audio gear, there is a new supply chain to serve US customers. Fidelity Imports is now the exclusive US distributor for Cambridge. Here’s the deets:

  • Better stock availability and faster shipping. Fidelity operates out of a Pennsylvania-based warehouse; east coast shipping should be particularly snappy.
  • Fidelity officially took over Cambridge Audio representation on January 5, 2026. Order fulfillment from its warehouse begins January 19, 2026.
  • Steve Novakoski, who has been the face of Cambridge sales in the US for years, is moving over to Fidelity as the national sales manager.

Cambridge Audio is making a push for the “lifestyle” audiophile who wants high-end specs without the stack of black boxes, and it has tightened up its US logistics to make sure it can deliver the goods.
